I am offering APACHE AGATES from Chihuahua, Mexico, from my personal collection for sale.  I have built this collection over many years and it includes some of the best Apache Agates (also called Flame Agates or Apache Flame Agates) ever found.   Many of my pieces came out of the Rice Collection and were obtained by them in the 1960s thru 1970s. Several others were obtained from Kristalle.  My friend Walter helped me build my Apache Agate collection, he was one of the cutters- when they cut and polished the agates for the Rice's, they got to pick and keep a half or certain slices for doing the cutting work.   Most good pieces are in museums or private collections. The Apached Hooded Owl, in the Brad Cross collection, is the best example of Apache Agate, and probably the finest Agate specimen on the planet.  Fenn & Jorgensen mined some in the 1970s, but later work did not produce much and it is believed the deposit is depleted. In my opinion Apache Agates are the most rare, unique and beautiful Agates in the world and they have a special place in my heart.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
