MORGANITE crystal/s on Lepidolite Albite Quartz etc matrix from the Katerina Mine, Pala, San Diego County, California.  Several large morganite crystals, with repair done by Cal Graeber Minerals, and a Goshenite, Quartz crystal, etc.  This one was trimmed from a larger matrix, formerly in the Bill Larson/Pala International San Diego County Collection.  It was found in the late 1990s and was part of the find that re-validated the Katerina Mine. This one is out of my longtime personal collection of San Diego County Gems and Minerals and its not often I let something out of that part of my collection.  It was trimmed as the larger piece had damage and repairs.  This piece is now very aesthetic compared to what it looked like before, still some repairs.  Almost impossible to find anything from the Katerina Mine.  This was dug by Otto Komarek and Byron Weege.
