Native GOLD in QUARTZ Vein from the famous Homestake Mine at Lead in South Dakota USA.

Measures 7cm x 6.7cm x 2.6cm.  As shown in the photos and/or video.

Extremely rare to get a fine crystallized mineral specimen or Gold in matrix from the Homestake mine, only certain geologists were allowed to take samples out, and they are hard to find to say the least.  I purchased this piece from Mineralman999 on Ebay some time back for $355.-  and it was a really good deal as I expected it to go for more (Auction win).  I am only asking what I paid for it though I believe its worth more as these are very hard to get.  Mineralman999 sells some of the best minerals on Ebay and this one is no exception to his high standards.

Good pieces especially showing visible gold from the mine are extremely hard to find and are highly sought by collectors.  The Mine closed in 2002 and is now an underground labratory.

From Mineralman's description about this piece:

"Native Gold with Chlorite & QuartzN27A Stope, 6200, 19 Ledge, Homestake Mine, Lead, Lead Mining District, Lawrence County, South Dakota, USA7cm x 6.7cm x 2.6cm.  Ex. George Elling CollectionDescription/Interesting Notes:A classic example of native gold from this famed South Dakota locale!!! This specimen hosts fine leaves of brilliant native gold intimately intergrown with the dark greenish-black chlorite schist and quartz matrix!!! Upon close inspection in person one can see where the gold is present underneath thin layers of the slightly translucent chlorite as well!!! Ex. George Elling collection!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!"
