Polished on the top, rough on the bottom and sides. Original RATTLESNAKE JASPER and incorrectly called "Howardite" after one of the finders (scientifically, true Howardite is a meteorite type). This vein, in northwest Nevada, was dug in the 1950's - 1960s and is no longer producing.
 
This old, original 'Plaid" Rattlesnake pattern) is SCARCE and highly sought to say the least, and is now selling BY THE GRAM, when and IF you can find it.
